Drawing the Everyday

I love drawing and I’ve been drawing pretty much everyday (occasional creative blocks notwithstanding) since 2014. There really is nothing like drawing from life to develop your creative voice and while I cringe to look at some of my early sketchbooks, I really appreciate seeing how much I’ve developed. And how much I’ve let go of the need to capture “accurate” representations. That’s totally not what drawing is about for me (anymore). While I still make many bad drawings, I’m finally learning to let go of expectations and just sink into and enjoy the process. No, I’m not always this zen about it — it’s definitely a daily practice and an ongoing journey!
