Madrid Sketchbook

We were fortunate to be able to spend a few months in Madrid while on sabbatical in 2017/18 (we rented a flat that was very drawable so I drew many of the rooms in it!). While we were there we also got the chance to spend a few days in Marrakech. It was a dream! Most of these images were made with gouache and pen + ink — while I’m mostly a watercolour/coloured pencil girl, these places just screamed for bolder colours and more intense pigments! And so, gouache.
